Jährlich veranstaltet das Goethe Institut eine German Career Roadshow die jungen Menschen Zukunfts- und Berufsperspektiven mit deutscher Sprache und in Deutschland nahe bringen sollen. In diesem Jahr fand diese Berufsmesse in Birmingham statt - Partnerstadt Leipzigs. Auf Einladung des Referats Internationale Beziehungen waren wir als kultureller Partner eingeladen.
Da die Planung dafür - bedingt durch die förderpolitische Lage - sehr kurzfristig war, sind wir ausnahmsweise mal ohne Ben unterwegs gewesen.

Every year, the Goethe-Institut organises a German Career Roadshow to introduce young people to future and career prospects in Germany using the German language. This year, this careers fair took place in Birmingham - Leipzig's twin city. At the invitation of the International Relations Department, we were invited as a cultural partner. As the planning for this was at very short notice - due to the funding policy situation - we were travelling without Ben for once.

Angekommen in Birmingham - zwei Stunden Autofahrt von Leipzig nach Berlin, Flug von Berlin nach München, Flug von München nach Birmingham - bezogen wir unsere Unterkunft und trafen uns zum Abendessen mit allen Leipzigern am Kanal.

Once we arrived in Birmingham - a two-hour drive from Leipzig to Berlin, flight from Berlin to Munich, flight from Munich to Birmingham - we moved into our accommodation and met up with all the Leipzigers for dinner by the canal.

Im Rahmen der German Career Roadshow des Goethe Instituts sprachen wir mit vielen Jugendlichen über berufliche Perspektiven von Musizierenden in Deutschland. Auch uns wurde noch einmal mehr bewusst, wie viel mehr unser Tun ist als nur auf die Bühne zu gehen und die eigene Kunst zu präsentieren. Im Rahmen eines Podiumsgesprächs war LuLo außerdem mit Unternehmerinnen und Unternehmern über deutsche Sprache im Business im Gespräch.

As part of the Goethe-Institut's German Career Roadshow, we spoke to many young people about career prospects for musicians in Germany. We also realised once again how much more there is to what we do than just going on stage and presenting our art. As part of a panel discussion, LuLo also talked to entrepreneurs about the German language in business.
